Nursing Application Pre-screening Form

Instructions: Please use this form to determine whether you are ready to apply to the NSCC Nursing program and what steps to take if you are not yet eligible to apply.

Please review the Nursing pre-requisite coursework. All classes must be completed with a grade of "C" or better BEFORE you apply to the Nursing program, and your GPA calculated for these courses must be 2.8 or above. You must also have a minimum ATI-TEAS Academic Preparedness level of Proficient.

Required General Education Coursework (must complete all 3 courses totaling 9 credit hours)

ENGL 1010 - English Composition I - 3 Credit Hours
Humanities Elective - 3 Credit Hours
PSYC 1030 - Introduction to Psychology - 3 Credit Hours

Required General Education Coursework Options (must complete only ONE of the following 3 credit hour courses)

COMM 2025 - Fundamentals of Communication - 3 Credit Hours
ENGL 1020 - English Composition II - 3 Credit Hours
PSYC 2130 - Life Development Psychology - 3 Credit Hours
BIOL 1215 - Principles of Nutrition - 3 Credit Hours
Humanities Elective - 3 Credit Hours

Core Requirements (must complete all 4 courses totaling 15 credit hours)

BIOL 2010 - Anatomy and Physiology I - 4 Credit Hours
BIOL 2020 - Anatomy and Physiology II - 4 Credit Hours
BIOL 2230 - Microbiology - 3 Credit Hours
MATH 1530 - Introduction to Statistics - 3 Credit Hours

Congrats! You are eligible to apply to the NSCC Nursing program. Within 24 hours of registering for 2025 classes, you will have access to login to the Nursing program application. If it has been less than 24 hours since you registered, please check back again tomorrow. If you have not yet been admitted to the college for 2025 and have questions about the status of your application, please reach out to the Welcome Center at welcomecenter@nscc.edu. You will not have access to login to the Nursing application until you are both admitted and registered.
